HVAC Level I covers trade mathematics, basic electricity, introduction to heating,
and cooling, introduction to air distribution systems, basic copper and plastic piping
practices, soldering and brazing, and basic carbon steel piping practices.

HVAC Level II covers alternating current, compressors, refrigerants and oils, leak
detection evacuation recovery and charging, metering devices, heat pumps, basic maintenance,
chimneys vents and flues, sheet metal duct systems, fiberglass and fabric duct systems,
commercial airside systems, air quality equipment, and introduction to hydronic systems.
Prerequisite: HVAC II or 1 year of field experience
Corequisite: None
This course covers the requirements for the EPA certification examinations. Topics
include small appliances, high pressure systems, and low-pressure systems. Upon completion,
students should be able to demonstrate knowledge of refrigerants and be prepared for
the EPA certification examinations. CEU: 1.8
