In "Microsoft Office Overview," you will learn a little about everything that Microsoft Office offers. Sessions will be in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, and One Note. Held Mondays and Wednesdays, January 8-February 21, from 6-8 pm, this class will cost $75. There will be no class on January 15 and February 19.
"Microsoft Windows Basic Computing Skills" will provide you with an understanding of the most popular, current technologies used at home and in the workplace. You will become computer literate in this hands-on course while you learn to access, create, save, and manage documents, spreadsheets, and emails and use the Internet effectively. We demystify terminology and impart best practice skills for productive and secure use of hardware and software. This course is designed for adults who have little or no previous experience using a computer. Held Tuesdays and Thursdays, January 9-February 20, from 6-8 pm, this class will cost $75.
In "Adobe Acrobat," students will learn the essentials of creating and modifying PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat DC Pro. They will become proficient in navigating the interface, using tools and menus, and adjusting preferences. Students will also learn to create PDFs through different methods and merge multiple PDFs. They will gain skills in navigating, searching, bookmarking, and linking within PDFs. The course covers commenting, reviewing, editing text and images, and manipulating pages. By leveraging the power of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, students will ensure document integrity regardless of the viewer's perspective. Held Fridays, January 12-February 16, from 2:30-4:30 pm, this class will cost $75.
"CompTIA Security+ Certification Prep" is part of a three-class certification preparation program (A+, Network+, and Security+) and can be taken in any order. CompTIA Security+ is a global certification that validates the baseline skills necessary to perform core security functions and pursue an IT security career. The new CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) represents the latest and greatest in cybersecurity, covering the most in-demand skills related to current threats, automation, zero trust, IoT, risk – and more. Once certified, you'll understand the core skills needed to succeed on the job – and employers will notice, too. The Security+ exam verifies you have the knowledge and skills to assess the security posture of an enterprise environment, recommend and implement appropriate security solutions, and monitor and secure hybrid environments, including cloud, mobile, Internet of Things (IoT), and operational technology. You will also demonstrate the ability to operate with an awareness of applicable regulations and policies, including principles of governance, risk, and compliance, and identify, analyze, and respond to security events and incidents. CompTIA Security+ is compliant with ISO 17024 standards and approved by the U.S. DoD to meet directive 8140/8570.01-M requirements. Held online, Tuesdays-Thursdays, January 9-April 30, from 6-9 pm, this class will cost $185 plus the courseware cost of $166. Scholarships are available for this course. There will be no class from February 20 to 22, March 5 to 7, and April 2.

Spring Semester
Continuing Education classes begin throughout the semester. New and returning students do not need to apply to the College; simply register for classes. Spring semester curriculum classes begin January 8. For all information, go to www.sandhills.edu/learn.
New students taking curriculum/college credit classes must apply before registering. 49ͼ¿â has an open-door policy, which means all applicants are accepted. On www.sandhills.edu, new students can find the application at the top right. Returning or current students can register by using Self-Service located on MySCC.
Boys & Girls Club
A Boys & Girls Club unit is offered on the 49ͼ¿â campus. It runs from 2:30 to 6:30 pm for kindergarten through fifth grade. The club is ideal for parents/guardians taking SCC afternoon or evening classes, those who need study time, need to utilize the computer lab, or work on projects. Club participants will receive homework assistance, and dinner is offered. The cost is $40 per child per year. The club provides transportation from McDeeds Creek, Farm Life, and Carthage Elementary schools.
In addition, drop-in services are available free of charge to 49ͼ¿â students from 6-9 pm. This is ideal for students taking afternoon or evening classes, working on group projects, or for other academic reasons.
